Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

1.1. Ecomarket Indigenous operates an online e-commerce platform and digital marketplace, supported by COPACSO, designed to facilitate the direct sale and purchase of pastoralist and agroecological products in Uganda. 1.2. These general terms and conditions govern all interactions, purchases, and vendor activities conducted on the platform. 1.3. By accessing or using Ecomarket Indigenous, you fully accept these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must discontinue your use of the platform. 1.4. Users acting on behalf of a business, cooperative, or organizational project confirm they possess the legal authority to bind that entity to these terms.

2. Registration and Account Security

2.1. You must be at least 18 years of age to register an account on Ecomarket Indigenous. 2.2. All registration details provided must be accurate, current, and complete. 2.3. Users are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account login details and password, and accept liability for any activity occurring under their account. 2.4. COPACSO reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate platform policies or compromise community safety.

3. Marketplace Transactions

3.1. Ecomarket Indigenous serves as a digital bridge connecting rural producers directly with urban buyers, cutting out exploitative intermediaries. 3.2. A binding sales contract is formed directly between the buyer and the vendor upon order confirmation via the platform. 3.3. Vendors warrant that all listed products—including traditional, organic, and climate-smart goods—are safe, of satisfactory quality, accurately described, and compliant with applicable laws and intellectual property rights.

4. Payments

4.1. All financial transactions must be executed securely through the approved payment channels and mobile money systems integrated into the platform guidelines.

5. Content and Conduct Rules

5.1. All content, product listings, reviews, and communications submitted by users must be accurate, respectful, and lawful. 5.2. Users must not post misleading descriptions, infringe upon intellectual property rights, or attempt to bypass the platform by coordinating transactions offline to evade marketplace standards.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1. All rights, titles, and interests in the Ecomarket Indigenous platform, branding, and proprietary software are owned and controlled by COPACSO or its licensors. Indigenous cultural expressions and community knowledge remain respected under community governance principles.

7. Limitation of Liability

7.1. COPACSO facilitates this platform to support sustainable pastoralist livelihoods but does not act as a direct party to individual buyer-vendor transactions, and shall not be held liable for indirect losses arising from third-party vendor performance.

8. Governing Law

8.1. These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Uganda, with any disputes subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Uganda.
